BUILDING A STRONGER SPARTA
MEET RON
Ron Day is a longtime Sparta resident, Planning Board leader, and business executive running to restore financial discipline, protect Sparta’s character, and bring accountable long-term leadership to local government.
Ron Day at a Glance
Ron is running because Sparta needs clear vision, disciplined planning, respect for taxpayers, and leadership that can manage more than one budget year at a time. He believes local government should be practical, transparent, and focused on keeping Sparta special.
Ron wants to restore financial discipline, rebuild depleted reserves, reduce legal expenses, improve transparency, support emergency services, protect Sparta’s character, and keep the focus on residents instead of politics.
Ron brings years of leadership experience working in engineering and technology companies with management responsibilities in finance, contract management, negotiations, and multi-year strategic planning. He has built a career evaluating complex issues, managing competing priorities, and leading with accountability.
Ron has served as a Fox Hollow Lake Club and HOA trustee, helped develop ordinance 22-21 restricting large distribution centers, served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Sparta Planning Board, and remains an active Planning Board member through 2026.
Ron has repeatedly called for clearer reporting on Sparta’s financial condition and believes residents deserve an honest view of where their tax dollars are going. If elected, he wants financial transparency to become the standard at Town Hall.
Ron wants to preserve Sparta’s rural environment, open space, parks, green spaces, and community character while supporting thoughtful planning, community pride, and responsible long-term decisions.
Ron believes residents should feel confident speaking up, raising concerns, and expecting respectful responses from local government. His approach is rooted in listening carefully, valuing different viewpoints, and keeping the focus on Sparta.
